There are 29 European hospitals involved in ERN CRANIO, from 11 member states. It is a multi-disciplinary network of highly specialised healthcare professionals. Patient representatives also play an active role in the network and its activities.
Each ERN has a coordinating healthcare centre. ERN CRANIO is coordinated by Erasmus MC, Rotterdam. Prof. dr. Irene Mathijssen is the coordinator and Dr. Sara Versnel is the deputy. Renée de Ruiter and Olivia Spivack are the project managers.
There are three diagnostic groups covered by ERN CRANIO:
- Craniosynostosis and other craniofacial anomalies
- Cleft Lip/Palate / Orodental anomalies
- ENT disorders
The network engages in seven areas of work, which are applicable to all three diagnostic groups (management activities, dissemination activities, evaluation activities, e-health, training, standards of care and outcome measurement). You can read more about the network activities here.
