The Craniofacial Surgical Group is one of 4 dedicated and commissioned Craniofacial Units in England at present. Craniosynostosis and craniofacial syndromes are managed by the craniofacial team comprising Plastic, Maxillofacial and Neurosurgeons.
Craniofacial cleft patients are managed by a combination of Cleft Surgeons and Craniofacial Surgeons but might also involve the dedicated ENT and Ophthalmic Surgeons who are affiliated to the Craniofacial Team at BCH. Craniofacial microsomia patients have a separate clinic in the trust ( HCP ) whereby all dedicated surgeons and allied health professionals are co located. This will include Maxillofacial and Otology. Congential facial nerve palsy patients have a dedicated clinic whereby expertise for their ongoing management is undertaken.
Robin sequence patients seen in the Cleft multidisciplinary clinic at this trust. Odotologic disorders are seen by a dedicated team of Paediatric Maxillofacial and Dental experts. All subgroups of patients above are seen in dedicated and well staffed multidisplinary clinics.
